They seem to be making a pretty big deal about the fortune teller.. I wonder if there will be real repercussions from your fortune.

For you racing fans, make your way to the rollerbeetle racing arena and sign up for the next available race. You will be outfitted in your very own rollerbeetle racer, complete with its own set of racing skills. Races will run...er roll...all weekend long as players compete for prizes, bragging rights, and the chance at one of fifty special prizes for the top times posted throughout the event.~guildwars.com

So, what do you think the prizes will be??
I personally think it with a mini-pet (flying pig to be exact)
and maybe Anet might to this every year with a new mini-pet corresponding the the Chinese Zodiac Calender

I can see it now... Half a million Shiros running around Shing Jea Monastery all desperately trying to capture as many souls as possible into bizarre mechanical things...

An idea for a minigame, maybe :P

Though the Canthan New Year looks like it's going to be great! Tyria and Elona seem to get most of the fun, so it's nice that Cantha will be getting another unique festival (I'm hoping that the Dragon Festival will return to Cantha this year too as I missed it last year).

I just noticed that this event coincided perfectly with the celebration of the Year of the Pig in China.

Could this mean... dare I say it... that every year, the event changes to match the Oriental New Year celebration?

Apparently.

The event page says each year they worship the animal that is supposed to protect them the upcoming year.

Is there going to be booze? I think the fortune sounds cool, probably something like "you're going to get killed for no reason" then you die for no reason.

No it will be something like "you are going to get Kanaxai's Edge when you farm the deep next time "

Yes, this is all fun and I will have some of it myself........... HOWEVER, I would gladly trade this fun for fixes in bugs that still exist since the game was conceived...........FRAK!!!

We get nerf nerf nerf on skills to PvE instead of dividing PvE from PvP if PvP needs a balance (does it really...after a year of a skill need to be dorked with?) What we don't get is simple graphic fixes like the midrif of ritualists, memory leaks, and many many other bug fixes.

Keep the masses entertained and distracted so we can pump out the next expansion seems to be the big mantra.

Nothing against keeping the shortsighted nutjobs entertained in order to make a buck, but some commitment to the game in it's entirety would greatly be appreciated by many longer term players hoping to be able to stay with the game for many more years to come.

/done

....next some sort-sighted one is going to detail how we don't pay for updates without realizing they pay in more crafty ways then they can understand.

Can't you complain somewhere else? Nothing you just complained about has anything to do with the Canthan Festivals. What do nerfs have anything to do with this?

Talk about being a downer at a party.
